Pooja Chopra trained by Pageant Coach Ritika Ramtri Kumar, Pageant Coach of The Tiara won Pantaloons Femina Miss India East 2009 on 17th February 2009, at Kolkata. She also won Miss Perfect 10; Miss Catwalk and Nakshatra Miss Sparkling Beauty. 22 year old Pooja who is 5.8 inches tall has done commercials for Mr Muscle, Big 97 FM, Dabur Honey, Coke (Pakistan) and EZone. She has also walked the ramp for Gitanjali, D'Damas, Manish Malhotra, Vikram Phadnis, Wendell Rodericks, Mihika Mirpuri, and Roberto Cavalli. She was Navy Queen 2007 1st Runner Up, NDA Queen 2004 1st Runner Up and has also acted in Fashion the movie. Pooja’s wardrobe was designed by Fashion Designer Priyanka Rajiv, who has also designed a saree for Angelina Jolie when she was visiting India. Umesh Mohite, Facility Head –World Gym (Pune Branch) took care of her physical fitness.

23 year old Karishma Karnik who is 5 feet 10’ also trained by Pageant Coach Ritika Ramtri Kumar was 1st Runners Up at Pantaloons Femina Miss India East 2009. She was also Navy Queen 2007, Mumbai.

Femina Miss India 2009:Pooja Chopra from Pune

Pooja Chopra was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India-World 2009 while Ekta Choudhary was crowned the Pantaloons- Femina Miss India-Universe 2009.

Chopra, a resident of Pune, and Delhi resident Choudhary were awarded the titles at the beauty pageant held here. Mumbai-resident Shriya Kishore was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss Earth 2009.


The Three beauties were crowned by last year's PFMI title holders PFMI World Parvathy Omanakuttan, PFMI Universe Simran Kaur Mundi and PFMI Earth Tanvi Vyas.

This year's beauty Pageant was not without its dose of glamour. Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Genelia D'Souza stole the event with their wonderful stage performance. Malaika Arora Khan and actor R. Madhavan hosted the event.

Padma Shri: Ovation for Aishwarya

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently awarded the highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri award for her contribution to the arts.The awards, a National honour,were announced on the occasion of India’s Republic Day.It brings the number up to five Padma Shris won by the Bachchan family. The first one was won by Amitabh Bachchan's father the late Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Of course Amitabh Bachchan himself won the Padma Shri twice. Jaya Bachchan took one home too and now the legacy continues with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walking away with one.

Aishwarya is the youngest person to ever achieve this honour from the film fraternity.

Ms. Patil conferred the Padma Shri awards on Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachhan and Akshay Kumar, Hindi playback singer Kumar Sanu, eye surgeon Ashok Kumar Grover, Chairman, Board of Editors of Nai Dunia daily, Abhay Chhajlani, surgeon Ashok Kumar Gupta and Ghazal singer Penaz Masani.

Other recipients of the Padma Shri included B.R. Shetty, Bansilal Rathi, Prof. Birendranath Datta, C.K. Menon, Devinder Singh Rana, G. Vijayaraghavan, Geeta Kapur, Geshe Ngawang Sampen, Govind Ram Nirmalkar, Goriparthi Narasimha Raju Yadav, Gurumayum Gourakishor Sharma, Hashmat Ullah Khan, Iravatham Mahadevan, Jalees Ahmed Khan Tareen, John Ralston Marr, K. Parvathi Omanakuttan :Miss World 2008 first runnerup


Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair, Femina Miss India World 2008, is also the First Runner Up of Miss World 2008. She was crowned at the Miss World Grand Finale at Johannesburg, South Africa on 13 December 2008. She was also the first runner up of Miss World Top Model contest held on 3 December 2008.
She was crowned "Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2008" in Mumbai on 5 April 2008.Parvathy was born on 13th March 1987 at Kottayam, Kerala as the first child of Mr. Omanakkuttan.
She is originally from Changanacherry - Kottayam, Kerala and now lives in Mumbai. She was only 7 months old when came to Mumbai with parents, because her father had to join Taj Hotel. Her hobbies include listening to music, dancing, glass painting, reading, playing basketball and badminton.

Miss Universe 2008: Dayana Mendoza


Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe beauty pageant, was held at the Crown Convention Center in the Diamond Bay Resort, Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14 2008. Dayana Mendoza, Miss Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe 2008 by outgoing titleholder Riyo Mori of Japan.
Dayana Sabrina Mendoza Moncada (born June 1, 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a model, Miss Venezuela 2007, and Miss Universe 2008.
Mendoza has stated that she enjoys "design, photography, advertising and wave surfing." She was once kidnapped in Venezuela, and stated the trauma taught her to remain poised under pressure.

Mendoza was caught in a nude scandal after photos of her modeling naked for a jewellery firm surfaced. Officials from the Miss Universe Organization decided against penalizing her insisting that the candid photos were not pornographic, but instead were "artistic in nature, and they don't have an ounce of pornographic content to them."

Miss World 2008: Ksenia Vladimirovna Sukhinova


Ksenia Vladimirovna Sukhinova is a Russian beauty queen who won the Miss Russia 2007 and Miss World 2008 pageants.
Ksenia Sukhinova was born 1987 in Nizhnevartovsk, Russian SFSR. She lives in Tyumen, Siberia, where she is a fifth-year student at the Tyumen State Oil and Gas University, studying cybernetic systems. She has an excellent academic record; according to the university's deputy president Veronika Yefremova the discipline is very difficult, "but Sukhinova's grades are all A's and B's.
Ksenia's measurements are 1.78m (5”10’), she has blonde hair and blue eyes. Her first name is often romanized Ksenya or Kseniya. Her favorite book is Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.When asked a question about her private life, she confessed that her heart was "still free.

Miss Universe 2000: LARA DUTTA


Lara Dutta is an Indian actress, UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador and the 2000 Miss Universe.She born April 16, 1978.














Dutta was born on April 16, 1978 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her father is Wing Commander L.K. Dutta (retired) and her mother is Jennifer Dutta. She also has two older sisters, one of whom serves in the Indian Air Force and a well known younger sister. Famed composer and DJ Nitin Sawhney is Dutta's cousin. The Dutta family moved to Bangalore in 1981 where she completed high school from St.Francis Xavier Girl's High School. Lara graduated in economics with a minor in communications from Mumbai University. She was crowned Miss Universe in 2000 which led to her appointment as a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador in 2001.

Sushmita Sen : Miss Universe 1994




In 1994, at the age of eighteen, Sushmita won the title of Femina Miss India beating out Aishwarya Rai who was the runner up. Sen represented India at the Miss Universe Pageant, held in Manila, Philippines. Sushmita won the Miss Universe 1994 contest.

Sushmita Sen was born on November 19, 1975 in Hyderabad, India. She is a well-known Bollywood actress who has also appeared in few Tamil films and a former beauty queen, who was crowned Miss Universe 1994. She is currently dating Ali Al-Awdi, an Arab businessman.

Sushmita was born in a Bengali family to Shubeer Sen, a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander and Subhra Sen who worked as a fashion artist and jewelery designer. She has a brother, Rajeev Sen and a sister, Neelam Sen. She was born St.Theresa's hospital, Hyderabad, and grew up in New Delhi. She attended school at Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute studying English, and had career plans in journalism. She has been linked romantically to several people. In 2000, she adopted a daughter, named Renee.

Miss World 2000 : Priyanka Chopra




Miss World 2000, the 50th Miss World pageant, was held on 30 November 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London, England. The pageant's swimsuit segment was filmed in the Maldives.

The pageant was won by Priyanka Chopra of India, the fifth Indian Miss World and the second consecutive winner from her country. Internationally, Chopra reigned alongside Miss Universe 2000 titleholder Lara Dutta, also of India. This was the first time since 1994 that Miss World and Miss Universe came from the same country; in 1994 the two titleholders were also Indians, Sushmita Sen (Miss Universe) and Aishwarya Rai (Miss World). Chopra was the third Indian winner of Miss World in four years.





After winning the title of Miss India World and later becoming Miss World 2000, Chopra made her acting debut with the Tamil film Thamizhan (2002). The following year, she made her Bollywood debut with Anil Sharma's The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and had her first commercial success with her second release, Andaaz from the same year, for which she won a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Becoming the second woman to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award for her critically acclaimed performance in Abbas-Mustan's Aitraaz (2004), Chopra later went on to deliver commercial success with films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Krrish (2006), her biggest commercial success so far, and Don - The Chase Begins Again (2006), thus establishing herself as a popular actress.

Born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Akhauri, both doctors, Chopra spent her childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Newton, Massachusetts and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Because her father was in the army, her family moved frequently. Her mother comes from a Bihari Kayastha family settled in Jamshedpur, while her father comes from a family of Punjabi origin, settled in Bareilly. She also has a brother, Siddharth, who is eight years younger than her.

Chopra studied at St. Maria Goretti in Bareilly, as a young girl and later went to the United States, where she was a student at Newton North High School in Newton, Massachusetts and North Surrey Secondary School in Surrey, BC, before returning to India to complete high school at Army School (Bareilly). She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left after winning the Miss World pageant.

Yukta Mookhey : Miss World 1999








Yukta Mookhey (born 7 October 1978) is an Indian model and actress. A native of Mulund, Mumbai, she was crowned Miss World in December 1999 at the Olympia theatre in London
Yukta was born in the Sindhi-speaking Mookhey family in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, on October 7, 1979. Her family consists of her dad, Inderlal, the former Managing Director of Ragz Clothing Company, but is now a Real Estate Agent who also deals in stocks and bonds; her mom, Aruna, who runs a grooming saloon 'Swiss Chalet' in Santa Cruz, Bombay; and a brother, Kanwal, who is an engineering student.

She studied in Dubai, U.A.E. for seven years, as Inderlal worked over there. The family re-located to Mahatma Gandhi Road, Mulund (West), Bombay during the year 1986. After completing her school, she went on to study in V.G. Vaze College, Mulund, and obtained a degree in Zoology. She has also studied Fine Arts for 3 years; has a diploma in computers from Aptech; and three year Hindustani Classical Music course.

She shot into the limelight in India after being crowned Femina Miss India 1999. She then went on to win the Miss World title in London, England. She took over this title from Annie Thomas and would relinquish it to Priyanka Chopra during the year 2000.

She first appeared on the silver screen in an item number in the 2001 Tamil movie 'Poovellam Un Vasam', which was directed by Ezhil and starred Ajith and Jyothika in the lead roles. Her first major release in Bollywood was the 2002 'Pyaasa' opposite Aftab Shivdasani. She was to appear in the 2003 release 'Market' but opted out due to an injury. She then appeared in two movies 'Love In Japan' and 'Memsaab' during the year 2005 as well as a music video 'Kathputli' during 2006.

She came into limelight at the 1997 Miss World pageant. She became a celebrity at 24 after winning the crown. She became the third Indian woman to win the Miss World pageant. Like Aishwarya Rai, she entered Bollywood acting career in the Indian film industry and internationally.

With an unsuccessful Bollywood career so far, Diana Hayden joined the line up of celebrities on Bigg Boss (Season 2).

After trying hard and failing to make a mark in Bollywood, Hayden moved to Los Angeles, California and devoted herself to social causes. In 2008, Diana Hayden became a wild card entry on the popular Indian show, Bigg Boss, which is based on the original Dutch show, Big Brother. She was voted out from Bigg Boss 2 house on the episode that aired on Nov 7th 2008.

Following her tenure as the global representative for the prestigious Miss World organization, Diana moved to the UK and studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She also studied at Drama Studio London, where she concentrated on the works of Shakespeare and earned a Best Actress nomination from the studio. In 2001, she made her screen debut in the film version of Shakespeare’s Othello in South Africa.

Aishwarya Rai

Face of India

Aishwarya Rai is an Indian model and one of the top class and highly-paid actresses in India. She is Miss World of 1994, and in 2000 she was voted Most Beautiful Miss World of All Time.





Aishwarya Rai was born in Mangalore to Krishnaraj Rai, a marine biologist, and Vrinda Rai, a writer. Her family belongs to the Bunt community of Mangalore. She has one elder brother, Aditya Rai who works in Navy and also co-produced one of Rai's movies, Dil Ka Rishta (2003).

After she was born, her parents moved to Mumbai where she attended the Arya Vidya Mandir high school in Santa Cruz. Rai then entered Jai Hind College at Churchgate for one year, and then moved to Ruparel College in Matunga to finish her "HSC" studies. She did well in school and planned to become an architect.

She can communicate in several languages, including Tulu, Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil. While pursuing her studies in architecture, Rai began modeling on the side. In the 1994 Miss India contest, she won the second place (behind Sushmita Sen), and went on to win the Miss World title the same year, where she also won the Miss Photogenic award. She abandoned her studies after winning the pageant and spent one year reigning as Miss World in London. Rai then started working as a professional model and then moved on to her current profession as an actress.

Rai has previously dated Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. She is now married to Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan. The wedding took place on 20 April 2007.
